Congratulations to Maryam Wardak! Ms. Wardak is the recipient of the University of St. Joseph's distinguished alumnae award.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (May 2, 2016) – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) will honor Maryam Wassil-Wardak ’03, M’08 of Wethersfield, Conn. with a 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award on Friday, May 20, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Hartford. Wassil-Wardak will be recognized with the Sister Fay O’Brien Award for her leadership in education and commitment to USJ. This is awarded to an alumni who promotes the growth of the whole person in a caring environment, while encouraging strong ethical values and personal integrity.

Wassil-Wardak, a past recipient of the Fulbright Teaching Exchange Program, is currently a social studies teacher at William Hall High School in West Hartford, Conn.

Wassil-Wardak will be among seven USJ alumni honored this year for their professional achievements, exemplary leadership, and community service.
