Curriculum Night at Hall High School to Showcase Much Beyond Academics
How do West Hartford’s high schools consistently place in the top tier of educational rankings compiled by national news media? Some would argue it’s strictly a numbers game—the percentage of students enrolled in advanced placement (AP) classes, or the number of students who test at a certain proficiency in reading and mathematics. While administrators and faculty at William H. Hall High School appreciate the value of those numbers and the coveted rankings associated with them, they know the backbone of their profession lies in teaching to the whole student and preparing him or her for life beyond high school. And this is what they are excited to present to parents and students at Hall’s annual Curriculum Night, September 16, 2015.
A string quartet and jazz ensemble; “living” paintings presented by drama students; sculpture, painting and drawing displays; robots and 3D printing; choral recitals—these are just a few of the highlights being organized by Hall High School staff to showcase Hall’s many curriculum offerings. The school store will be open for business with school cheerleaders on hand to get everyone excited about the school’s recently unveiled logo. These events are in addition to the typical curriculum event activities like meeting teachers and following students’ daily schedules.
By presenting some of Hall’s varied offerings and opportunities for involvement in addition to its top-notch academics, administration and faculty hope to make this year’s Curriculum Night one of the most exciting and successful to date.
Curriculum Night will take place at William H. Hall High School on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 7 to 9 p.m.
